PROGRAM GOTONG ROYONG GO CLEAN KL

PROGRAM GOTONG ROYONG GO CLEAN KL

Environmental sustainability and community cleanliness have become increasingly important in addressing the challenges associated with rapid urbanization, waste generation, and declining public awareness of environmental responsibility. Educational institutions play a significant role in cultivating environmentally responsible citizens by providing opportunities for students to engage in meaningful community service activities that promote sustainable practices and civic responsibility. In line with this objective, Goon International College successfully organised the Program Gotong Royong: Go Clean KL on 28 November 2025 in collaboration with Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The programme aimed to enhance students' awareness of environmental cleanliness, encourage active participation in community service, and foster a sense of responsibility towards maintaining clean and healthy public spaces. Held at Wisma Eagle Eye, the programme attracted 416 college students, reflecting a strong commitment among students to participate in environmental conservation and volunteerism. The programme commenced with registration and safety briefings conducted by organisers and DBKL representatives, followed by structured gotong-royong activities that involved waste collection, sweeping, general area maintenance, and proper waste segregation practices. Through these hands-on activities, participants gained practical experience in environmental stewardship while developing essential values such as teamwork, discipline, cooperation, and civic consciousness. The involvement of DBKL provided participants with professional guidance on effective waste management, recycling practices, and environmental sustainability, enabling students to better understand the importance of preserving public spaces for the well-being of the wider community. Beyond improving environmental awareness, the programme also strengthened collaboration between Goon International College and DBKL, demonstrating how partnerships between educational institutions and local authorities can effectively support community-based initiatives. Furthermore, the programme contributed to the achievement of several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by promoting a cleaner and healthier environment, SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) through the maintenance and preservation of public spaces, SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by encouraging responsible waste management and waste segregation practices, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through strategic collaboration between the college and DBKL. The programme also produced significant educational benefits, as participants developed important soft skills such as communication, leadership, problem-solving, teamwork, and interpersonal collaboration while working collectively to achieve common environmental objectives. Although several challenges were encountered during programme implementation, including coordinating a large number of participants, ensuring equitable task distribution, managing time efficiently, and adapting to weather conditions and site limitations, these challenges provided valuable learning opportunities for organisers to improve future programme planning and execution. The successful implementation of the programme demonstrated that experiential learning through community engagement can effectively promote long-term behavioural change by encouraging students to adopt environmentally responsible practices in their daily lives. Overall, the Program Gotong Royong: Go Clean KL successfully achieved its objectives by increasing environmental awareness, strengthening community engagement, promoting sustainable practices, and fostering a culture of volunteerism among college students. The programme highlights the importance of collaborative CSR initiatives in nurturing socially responsible, environmentally conscious, and community-oriented graduates who are prepared to contribute positively towards sustainable development and environmental preservation within their communities.

PROGRAM KESEDARAN JENAYAH BULI & BAHAYA PERGAULAN BEBAS

PROGRAM KESEDARAN JENAYAH BULI & BAHAYA PERGAULAN BEBAS

Bullying and unhealthy social behaviour have become increasingly significant concerns among young adults, particularly within higher education institutions, as these issues can negatively affect students' emotional well-being, academic performance, interpersonal relationships, and overall personal development. Recognising the importance of preventive education, Goon International College successfully organised the Program Kesedaran Jenayah Buli & Bahaya Pergaulan Bebas on 3 September 2025 in collaboration with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN). The programme was designed as a comprehensive awareness initiative to educate students about the legal implications of bullying, the risks associated with unhealthy social interactions, and the importance of practising responsible behaviour in both academic and social settings. Held at Level 12 of Goon International College, the programme attracted 233 college students, demonstrating a high level of participation and interest in issues related to student safety, emotional well-being, and social responsibility. Throughout the eight-hour programme, participants attended a series of structured activities that included expert-led awareness talks, educational sharing sessions, real-life case studies, interactive discussions, and question-and-answer sessions facilitated by representatives from PDRM and LPPKN. The involvement of these professional agencies enabled students to gain first-hand knowledge of the legal consequences of bullying, strategies for preventing harmful social behaviour, and practical approaches to making informed and responsible life decisions. The interactive nature of the programme encouraged students to actively participate, express their opinions, and engage in meaningful discussions about contemporary social challenges faced by young adults. The programme also highlighted the importance of emotional intelligence, self-control, mutual respect, and ethical decision-making as essential qualities for maintaining positive relationships and creating a safe learning environment. In addition to increasing awareness of bullying and risky social behaviour, the programme contributed to the development of essential soft skills, including communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and responsible citizenship. The collaborative effort between Goon International College, PDRM, and LPPKN demonstrated the value of multi-agency partnerships in addressing social issues through education rather than solely relying on enforcement measures. Furthermore, the programme aligned with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by promoting emotional and psychological well-being, SDG 4 (Quality Education) by providing students with life skills and behavioural education, SDG 5 (Gender Equality) by encouraging mutual respect and the prevention of harmful social behaviours, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening collaboration between educational institutions and government agencies. Although the organisers encountered several operational challenges, including limited venue capacity due to unexpectedly high student participation, temporary lift malfunctions, and time management constraints during programme implementation, these issues provided valuable lessons for improving future planning, logistics, and programme delivery. Overall, the Program Kesedaran Jenayah Buli & Bahaya Pergaulan Bebas successfully achieved its objectives by enhancing students' awareness of bullying, legal responsibilities, emotional well-being, and positive social behaviour while fostering a safer, more informed, and socially responsible student community. The programme illustrates how collaborative awareness initiatives can play a significant role in supporting holistic student development and strengthening institutional efforts to cultivate responsible, ethical, and resilient graduates who are better prepared to contribute positively to society.

PROGRAM SINAR MAHASISWA: MINDA SIHAT TANPA PORNOGRAFI

PROGRAM SINAR MAHASISWA: MINDA SIHAT TANPA PORNOGRAFI

The Program Sinar Mahasiswa: Healthy Minds Without Pornography
The Program Sinar Mahasiswa: Healthy Minds Without Pornography was
organised by the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) in
collaboration with Goon International College as part of its Corporate Social
Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The programme was held on 12 August 2025 at Kolej
Profesional MAIWP, Kuala Lumpur, bringing together approximately 150 students
from various public and private higher education institutions, including 43 students
from Goon International College. The programme was designed to increase awareness among young adults
regarding mental health and the harmful effects of pornography on individuals,
families, and society. In today's digital era, students have easier access to online
content than ever before. While technology provides educational opportunities, it also
exposes young people to inappropriate materials that may negatively influence their
psychological well-being, behaviour, relationships, and academic performance. Therefore, educational programmes such as this are essential in helping students
make responsible decisions, develop emotional resilience, and maintain positive
values. The programme also supported Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3:
Good Health and Well-being, highlighting the importance of promoting mental
wellness and healthy lifestyles among youth. Programme Objectives
The programme was organised with several important objectives in mind. Firstly, it aimed to increase students' awareness of the negative effects of
pornography on mental health, emotional well-being, and personal relationships. Secondly, it sought to promote positive mental health by encouraging students to
develop healthy coping mechanisms and responsible decision-making skills. Another
objective was to encourage ethical behaviour and strengthen students' understanding of moral and social responsibilities. Finally, the programme aimed to
strengthen collaboration between LPPKN and higher education institutions in
delivering meaningful community-based educational initiatives. Background of the Programme
Mental health has become one of the most significant issues affecting
university and college students. Academic pressure, family expectations, financial
concerns, and social media influence have contributed to increasing levels of stress, anxiety, and emotional challenges among young adults. At the same time, unrestricted access to inappropriate online content, particularly pornography, has
become another growing concern. Pornography can negatively affect an individual's perception of relationships, self-esteem, emotional control, and behaviour. Excessive exposure may also
contribute to addiction, poor academic performance, reduced concentration, and
unhealthy social interactions. Recognising these concerns, LPPKN organised this
programme to provide accurate information, professional guidance, and practical
strategies for maintaining good mental health while encouraging responsible digital
behaviour.

The collaboration between LPPKN and Goon International College
demonstrates the importance of partnerships between government agencies and
educational institutions in promoting holistic student development and social
responsibility. Programme Implementation
The programme was conducted from 8.00 a.m. until 1.30 p.m. following the
official schedule prepared by LPPKN. Initially, Goon International College was
allocated only 15 participant slots through the official invitation. However, due to
lower participation from several private higher education institutions, LPPKN
extended additional participation opportunities to Goon International College. The college responded efficiently by recruiting more interested students,
increasing its total participation to 43 students. Overall, the programme attracted
approximately 150 participants from various public and private higher education
institutions throughout Kuala Lumpur. Throughout the programme, students actively participated in awareness talks,
interactive discussions, psychological sharing sessions, and legal awareness
presentations conducted by LPPKN representatives and invited speakers. The
programme created a positive learning environment where students were
encouraged to ask questions, share opinions, and reflect on real life situations
related to mental health and responsible behavior. Programme Activities
The programme followed a structured schedule designed to maximise student
engagement and learning. Registration and breakfast began at 8.00 a.m., allowing
participants to register and interact with students from other institutions. This was
followed by the KafeTEEN promotion session, which introduced the services and
support available for young people. The first awareness session focused on understanding mental health and the
dangers associated with pornography. Professional speakers explained how
exposure to inappropriate content can affect emotional stability, relationships, and
future life decisions. The second session involved psychological sharing, where participants
learned practical techniques for managing stress, controlling emotions, and
developing healthy coping strategies. This session encouraged students to recognise
early signs of emotional distress and seek professional help when necessary. The third session was delivered by representatives from the Royal Malaysia
Police (PDRM), focusing on legal awareness. Students were informed about
Malaysian laws related to pornography, cybercrime, and responsible online behaviour. The programme concluded with a closing ceremony and certificate presentation, recognising participants' active involvement. Role of Goon International College
Goon International College played a major role in ensuring the programme's
success. The college served as the main liaison between LPPKN and participating
students by coordinating communication, disseminating programme information, and
managing student registration and attendance.

In addition, the college prepared students before the programme by
explaining its objectives, expected learning outcomes, and the importance of
participating actively. This preparation helped students understand the programme's
relevance to their personal and academic development. The college also provided administrative and logistical support, including
attendance monitoring, documentation management, and transportation
arrangements where necessary. After the programme, students were encouraged to
share the knowledge they had gained with their classmates and peers, extending the
programme's impact beyond the event itself. Furthermore, the collaboration strengthened the long-term partnership
between Goon International College and LPPKN, supporting future Corporate Social
Responsibility (CSR) initiatives that benefit students and the wider community. Programme Outcomes and Impact
The programme produced several positive outcomes for both students and
participating institutions. Students gained a better understanding of the relationship
between mental health, emotional well-being, and responsible behaviour. They
became more aware of the harmful effects of pornography and learned practical
strategies to protect themselves from negative online influences. The programme also improved students' communication skills, critical thinking
abilities, self-awareness, and confidence through interactive discussions and group
participation. Many participants demonstrated increased willingness to discuss
sensitive topics openly and respectfully, helping to reduce stigma surrounding mental
health issues. From an institutional perspective, the programme strengthened collaboration
among multiple higher education institutions and government agencies. The
participation of approximately 150 students demonstrated strong commitment
towards community engagement and student development. The programme also contributed directly to Sustainable Development Goal
(SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-being by promoting mental health awareness, encouraging positive behavioural change, and supporting students' overall well-being. Challenges Faced
Although the programme was successfully implemented, several challenges
were encountered during its organisation. One of the primary challenges involved
uneven participation among participating higher education institutions. Some
institutions were unable to fill their allocated participant quotas, requiring LPPKN to
reallocate available places to Goon International College at short notice. Fortunately, Goon International College responded promptly by recruiting
additional students, demonstrating flexibility, effective communication, and strong
organisational capability. Another lesson learned was that interactive programme
formats were significantly more effective than traditional lecture-based sessions. Students were more willing to participate actively when discussions, question-and- answer sessions, and real-life examples were incorporated into the presentations.

Recommendations
Several recommendations can be made to improve future programmes. Firstly, similar awareness programmes should continue to be organised regularly to
educate more students on mental health and responsible digital behaviour. Continuous exposure to these topics will help reinforce positive attitudes and healthy
lifestyles. Secondly, greater collaboration among higher education institutions should be
encouraged to increase participation and knowledge sharing. Institutions should also
promote these programmes earlier to ensure higher student attendance. Thirdly, organisers should increase the number of interactive activities, such
as group discussions, case studies, role-playing, and mental health workshops. These activities encourage deeper understanding and greater student engagement. Finally, future programmes should expand their outreach through online
platforms and social media campaigns to reach students who may not be able to
attend physically. This would further strengthen public awareness and maximise the
programme's overall impact.
In conclusion, the Program Sinar Mahasiswa: Healthy Minds Without
Pornography successfully achieved its objectives of promoting mental health
awareness, encouraging responsible behaviour, and educating students about the
negative consequences of pornography. Through collaboration between LPPKN and
Goon International College, the programme provided valuable knowledge, encouraged positive behavioural change, and strengthened students' emotional
resilience. The active participation of 43 students from Goon International College,
together with approximately 150 participants from various higher education
institutions, reflected the programme's success and the strong commitment of all
stakeholders. The programme not only enhanced students' understanding of mental
health but also contributed to their personal growth, communication skills, and ethical
awareness. Overall, this initiative demonstrates the importance of collaborative
educational programmes in developing responsible, resilient, and socially aware
graduates. Continued partnerships between educational institutions and government
agencies will ensure that similar programmes continue to benefit future generations
while contributing to national development and the achievement of Sustainable
Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being.

MY BODY, MY CHOICE

MY BODY, MY CHOICE

The My Body, My Choice programme was successfully conducted on 25 July
2025 at Kafeteria UTC Pudu, Kuala Lumpur, through a collaborative effort between
Lembaga Penduduk dan Pembangunan Keluarga Negara (LPPKN) and Goon
International College. This programme was organized as part of the institution’s
commitment towards Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives that focus on
student development, health awareness, and social responsibility.
In today’s rapidly changing society, young adults are constantly exposed to
information from multiple sources, particularly concerning health, relationships, and
lifestyle choices. However, not all information available is accurate or beneficial. Because of this, there is a growing need for structured educational programmes that
provide students with proper guidance and reliable knowledge. The My Body, My
Choice programme was designed specifically to address these concerns by
educating students on personal health awareness, responsible decision making, and
the importance of respecting personal boundaries. This programme was not only educational in nature but also served as an
important platform for encouraging open discussions among students regarding
issues that are often considered sensitive. Through this initiative, both LPPKN and
Goon International College aimed to create a safe learning environment where
students could gain knowledge, ask questions freely, and become more aware of the
responsibilities associated with their personal well being. Youth development plays a significant role in shaping future society. As
students transition into adulthood, they begin making decisions independently
regarding their health, lifestyle, relationships, and overall well-being. Unfortunately, many young people lack access to accurate educational resources that can help
them make informed decisions, particularly in matters related to reproductive health
and healthy living. Recognizing this gap, the My Body, My Choice programme was introduced as
an awareness initiative aimed at providing students with knowledge that can
positively influence their choices and behavior. The programme emphasized the
importance of understanding one’s body, making responsible life decisions, and
maintaining physical as well as emotional well-being. The collaboration between LPPKN and Goon International College
strengthened the programme by combining institutional support with professional
expertise. LPPKN, as a government agency specializing in family development and
population health, brought valuable knowledge and experience, while the college
played an important role in ensuring active student participation and smooth
programme coordination. This initiative also reflects the institution’s commitment to
preparing students not only academically, but also personally, by equipping them with
life skills that contribute to responsible adulthood and healthier communities. The primary objective of this programme was to increase awareness among
students regarding health-related issues and encourage responsible personal
choices. More specifically, the programme aimed to educate students about
reproductive health, healthy lifestyle practices, and the importance of making
informed decisions in situations that may affect their well-being. Another important objective was to encourage respect for personal
boundaries and individual rights. In modern society, students are increasingly
exposed to peer pressure, social influence, and situations that may challenge their

values. Therefore, helping students understand the importance of consent, self-
respect, and personal responsibility was a major focus of the programme. Additionally, the programme aimed to strengthen collaboration between

educational institutions and public agencies such as LPPKN, demonstrating how
partnerships can create more impactful educational initiatives that benefit students
directly. Ultimately, the programme sought to empower students with practical
knowledge that they can apply in their everyday lives, allowing them to make better
choices for their future. The programme was conducted from 8.00 a.m. until 5.00 p.m., involving a full
day of educational sessions, awareness talks, and interactive discussions led by
representatives from LPPKN. A total of 50 students participated in the programme, exceeding initial expectations and reflecting strong student interest in health
awareness initiatives. The implementation of the programme followed a structured format designed
to maximize student engagement. Throughout the day, facilitators delivered
presentations focusing on reproductive health awareness, responsible behavior, healthy lifestyle practices, and decision-making skills. What made the programme particularly effective was its interactive learning
approach. Rather than relying solely on lectures, facilitators encouraged active
participation through open discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and real-life
scenario analysis. This allowed students to engage directly with the content and
relate the information to situations they may encounter personally. The positive response from participants showed that students were highly
interested in learning about issues that directly affect their personal development. The strong level of engagement also demonstrated that such programmes are highly
relevant and necessary in today’s educational environment. As the collaborating institution, Goon International College played an
essential role in ensuring the successful implementation of the programme. The
college was responsible for coordinating student participation, managing
communication between students and organizers, and providing logistical support
throughout the programme. One major responsibility of the college was ensuring students understood the
purpose and significance of the programme prior to attendance. This helped create
stronger participation and encouraged students to approach the sessions with
seriousness and interest. The programme was also aligned with the college’s broader student
development initiatives. Beyond academic achievement, the institution recognizes
the importance of equipping students with life skills that prepare them for real-world
challenges. By supporting this programme, the college reinforced its commitment
toward holistic student development. Following the programme, the college also planned several follow-up efforts
to sustain the impact of the initiative. Students were encouraged to share knowledge with peers, practice healthy lifestyle habits, and remain actively involved in future
awareness programmes organized by external agencies. This demonstrates that the
college views student development as an ongoing process rather than a one-time
event. Several activities were conducted throughout the programme to ensure that
learning remained engaging, informative, and interactive. The main activities included
awareness talks delivered by LPPKN representatives, educational sharing sessions
on youth health, and open discussions where students were encouraged to interact
directly with facilitators. The awareness talk served as the foundation of the programme by providing
factual information related to reproductive health and personal well-being. Students
were introduced to important concepts regarding responsible decision-making and
healthy living practices. The educational sharing sessions created opportunities for
facilitators to provide practical knowledge that students could apply in their daily lives. These sessions focused on helping participants understand how lifestyle choices
directly impact long-term health outcomes.
Interactive discussions became one of the most valuable components of the
programme. Students were given the opportunity to ask questions openly, discuss
concerns, and participate actively rather than remaining passive listeners. An
appreciation session was also held at the end of the programme where certificates
and tokens of recognition were presented as a gesture of gratitude for participation
and collaboration. The programme generated several positive outcomes for participating
students. One of the most noticeable impacts was the increased awareness and
understanding of important health-related issues. Students demonstrated improved
knowledge regarding reproductive health, responsible personal behavior, and healthy
lifestyle practices. Beyond knowledge acquisition, the programme also created a comfortable
environment for discussing topics that students often feel hesitant to address openly. The facilitators successfully encouraged honest communication, allowing participants
to engage in conversations without fear of judgment. Another important outcome was
the development of students’ soft skills. Throughout discussions and interactive
sessions, students improved their communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and
confidence when expressing ideas or asking questions.
Institutionally, the programme strengthened the partnership between Goon
International College and LPPKN. Such collaboration demonstrates how educational
institutions and government agencies can work together effectively to create
programmes that produce meaningful social impact. The high student participation
rate further confirmed that the programme addressed real concerns among young
adults and fulfilled an important educational need. The My Body, My Choice programme contributes significantly toward several
United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). First, it supports SDG 3:
Good Health and Well-being by promoting awareness regarding reproductive health
and encouraging healthier lifestyle choices among students. Secondly, the programme aligns with SDG 4: Quality Education because it
provides students with practical life skills education that extends beyond classroom
learning. The knowledge gained helps students make informed decisions that can
positively affect their future. The programme also contributes to SDG 5: Gender
Equality by promoting respect for personal boundaries, individual rights, and
awareness regarding consent and responsible behavior. Finally, SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals is reflected through the
successful collaboration between Goon International College and LPPKN, demonstrating how institutional partnerships can create stronger educational and
social outcomes. Through these contributions, the programme supports long-term
efforts toward building healthier, more informed, and socially responsible
communities. Although the programme was successfully conducted, several challenges
were identified during implementation. One challenge involved maintaining
continuous student engagement throughout the full-day programme. Since the
sessions covered serious topics over an extended period, facilitators needed to
ensure students remained focused and actively involved. Time management also
became an important consideration, as balancing educational content with interactive
activities required careful coordination. Facilitators needed to allocate sufficient time
for discussions while ensuring all planned content was delivered effectively. Based on these observations, several recommendations can be made for
future programmes. Similar awareness programmes should be conducted regularly
to reinforce knowledge and maintain student awareness over time. Participation
should also be expanded to involve students from additional colleges and institutions. Future programmes could incorporate more workshops and practical
seminars, allowing students to experience more hands-on learning rather than relying
primarily on lecture-based sessions. Strengthening long-term collaboration between
educational institutions and public health agencies will also ensure sustainability and
allow greater impact in future community development initiatives.
In conclusion, the My Body, My Choice programme was a highly successful
initiative that achieved its objectives of promoting health awareness, encouraging
responsible decision-making, and educating students on personal well-being. The
programme provided students with valuable knowledge that can positively influence
their future choices and overall lifestyle. The collaboration between LPPKN and Goon International College
demonstrated how partnerships between educational institutions and government
agencies can create meaningful programmes that extend beyond traditional
classroom education. The success of the programme was clearly reflected through
strong student participation, active engagement during sessions, and the positive
learning outcomes achieved. Most importantly, the programme reminded students
that making responsible choices regarding their health and personal well-being is
essential for long-term success and quality of life. Through continued awareness efforts and future collaborative programmes,
institutions can continue empowering young adults to become informed, responsible, and socially conscious members of society. Overall, this programme served as an
important step toward creating a healthier student community while contributing to
long-term educational and social development.

Goon International College Champions Community Service Through Strategic CSR Collaboration with LPPKN

Kuala Lumpur, 11 March 2025. At Goon International College, education is not confined to lecture
halls or textbooks, it is enriched through meaningful experiences that cultivate compassion,
leadership, and civic responsibility. Reinforcing its commitment to holistic education and
sustainable community development, the College proudly collaborated with KafeTEEN Wilayah
Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, an initiative under the National Population and Family
Development Board (LPPKN), in organising the Program Semarak Ramadan: Bubur Lambuk
KafeTEEN WPKL 2025.
Held at KafeTEEN Jalan Raja Laut and Singgah Teduh Nur Qaseh, Kuala Lumpur, the programme
brought together 112 Goon International College students in a day dedicated to volunteerism,
community engagement, and the spirit of Ramadan. More than a charitable initiative, the
programme embodied the College's educational philosophy that true learning flourishes when
knowledge is translated into meaningful service. By stepping beyond the classroom and engaging
directly with the community, students experienced first-hand the transformative power of
empathy, collaboration, and social responsibility.
The programme provided students with the opportunity to participate in every stage of the Bubur
Lambuk preparation process from preparing ingredients and cooking to packaging and
distributing meals to members of the surrounding community. Working alongside officers from
LPPKN and fellow volunteers, students demonstrated remarkable teamwork, discipline, and
commitment throughout the seven-and-a-half-hour programme. The initiative served as a vivid
reminder that many hands make light work, as collective effort transformed a simple community
activity into a meaningful act of compassion that reached those who needed it most.
At the heart of this collaboration was Goon International College's unwavering belief that higher
education should nurture graduates who are not only academically competent but also socially
conscious and ethically grounded. While classroom learning equips students with theoretical
knowledge, community engagement provides invaluable opportunities to develop essential
employability skills such as leadership, communication, adaptability, critical thinking, and
2
teamwork. These competencies are increasingly recognised as fundamental attributes of futureready graduates who can contribute meaningfully to both their professions and society.
The College played a pivotal role in coordinating student participation, facilitating communication
with programme organisers, and ensuring the smooth execution of all activities. Through effective
planning and close collaboration with LPPKN, the programme reflected the College's strong
organisational capabilities and its dedication to building long-term partnerships that create
lasting value for students and the wider community. As the saying goes, actions speak louder than
words, and Goon International College continues to demonstrate its commitment to social
responsibility through initiatives that create tangible and lasting impact.
Beyond its immediate community benefits, the programme also reflects the College's alignment
with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reinforcing its aspiration to
contribute to global sustainability agendas through local action. The distribution of nutritious
meals directly supported SDG 2: Zero Hunger, while promoting SDG 3: Good Health and Wellbeing by ensuring access to food during the holy month of Ramadan. Furthermore, the initiative
advanced SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities by reaching underserved communities and exemplified
SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through the successful collaboration between Goon
International College and LPPKN. Such initiatives illustrate how higher education institutions can
play a meaningful role in addressing societal challenges while empowering students to become
responsible global citizens.
One of the programme's greatest achievements was its ability to foster genuine connections
between students and the community. Through direct interaction with beneficiaries, students
gained a deeper appreciation of diversity, inclusivity, and the importance of extending support to
those facing socio-economic challenges. These experiences encourage students to view
volunteerism not as a one-off activity, but as a lifelong commitment to creating positive social
change. Indeed, the programme reaffirmed that service to humanity is one of the highest forms
of education, where lessons learned through experience often leave a more lasting impression
than those acquired through textbooks alone.
3
The enthusiastic participation of 112 students also reflects the vibrant culture of volunteerism
that continues to thrive within Goon International College. Students embraced the opportunity
to contribute beyond academic obligations, demonstrating maturity, compassion, and a genuine
desire to make a difference. Their dedication serves as an inspiring example of the College's
mission to nurture graduates who possess not only intellectual capability but also integrity,
empathy, and a strong sense of civic duty.
The success of the Program Semarak Ramadan: Bubur Lambuk KafeTEEN WPKL 2025 further
strengthens the strategic partnership between Goon International College and LPPKN, paving the
way for future collaborations that will continue to enrich student learning while contributing to
community development. By working hand in hand with government agencies and community
organisations, the College continues to expand opportunities for experiential learning that bridge
academic knowledge with real-world application.
As Goon International College continues its journey towards educational excellence, community
engagement will remain a cornerstone of its institutional mission. The College firmly believes that
outstanding graduates are defined not solely by academic achievement but by their ability to lead
with compassion, uphold ethical values, and contribute positively to society. Programmes such as
Semarak Ramadan: Bubur Lambuk KafeTEEN WPKL exemplify this vision by inspiring students to
become socially responsible leaders who recognise that meaningful success is measured not only
by personal accomplishments but also by the positive impact they create in the lives of others.
Through sustained partnerships, purposeful service, and an unwavering commitment to holistic
education, Goon International College will continue to empower students to lead by example,
embrace lifelong volunteerism, and become catalysts for sustainable and inclusive community
development. In doing so, the College remains steadfast in its mission of shaping graduates who
are academically accomplished, professionally competent, and dedicated to building a more
compassionate and equitable society.
