NORASHIKIN BINTI HASHIM

NORASHIKIN BINTI HASHIM is an experienced educator, lecturer, researcher, and school principal with more than a decade of expertise in Early Childhood Education. She currently serves as a Lecturer at Goon International College, where she teaches diploma and degree students, specializing in areas such as Early Childhood & Well-being, Critical Thinking & Problem Solving, and Science in Early Childhood Education.

Alongside her academic role, she is also the Principal of Genius Aulad Saujana Utama, leading the institution since 2014. Her leadership focuses on curriculum development, teacher training, child-centered learning approaches, and fostering strong partnerships between schools and parents. She is widely recognized for integrating storytelling-based pedagogy into teaching and learning to support children’s socio-emotional growth and character development.

She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Early Childhood Education at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, with a research focus on developing storytelling modules based on core moral values to shape preschool children’s character. Her academic interests include storytelling in education, socio-emotional development, character building, and early literacy development.

Previously, she completed her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, where her research explored children’s behavioral development through storytelling methods in preschool education. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from International Islamic University Malaysia.

Beyond academia, she is an active children’s book writer and educational content creator under the brand Mommy Happy. She has authored children’s storybooks, developed reading materials, and created over 60 educational resources through the “Pakej Asyik Baca” initiative, including worksheets, flashcards, and digital learning content for young learners.

Passionate about empowering educators and parents, she regularly conducts storytelling workshops and educational talks at schools and institutions across Malaysia. Her work reflects a deep commitment to nurturing children’s holistic development through meaningful, value-based learning experiences
